John is a bit egotistical, but he's a pretty cuddly sort of guy when he's in a really good mood. Often teased as a video-game nerd, he seems to be truly happiest in Mr W's class, one of the only kids in the group excited about the outdoorsy activities. He's somewhat of a jerk, hostile only because of the way the kids treat him, but he can usually keep himself in line.
He's an eighth grader, or a 'Junior.'
